While Google and Yahoo have built empires on what linguistically amounts to nonsensical exclamation marks, there is still something to be said for truly descriptive domain names. Something, that is, beyond them all being gone or condemned to eternal tasting and squatting.
When it comes to home tours and showings, in Norwegian commonly and collectively referenced under the umbrella of "visninger" in plural, "visning" in singular, the prefix 360 is used to describe virtual tours with panoramic images.
The new Mediacade domain 360visning.no is therefore perfectly descriptive of what it offers.
Core functionality is handled by the improved PanoPublisher software to offer exclusive virtual tours, termed "360 visninger" locally, in three formats and two sizes, including fullscreen.
Technically, the panoramic world has evolved since the very first cylindrical panoramas gave us 360 degrees. But despite today's use of standard 3D projection methods and algorithms, the internationalized 360 label has stuck to better differentiate photography from modeled and rendered 3D content.
